To end black history month here at Wish, we have partnered with streetwear staple 10.Deep again this year to create the “PROUD TO BE A PROBLEM” tee. Falling very much in line with our “By Any Means Necessary” collaboration that was delivered this time last year, this tee bears the likeness of the late revolutionary and former President of South Africa, Nelson Mandela. This delivery offers two separate tees in black and heather grey with Nelson Mandela’s face on the front, and the words “PROUD TO BE A PROBLEM” on the back atop 10.Deep and Wish branding. A great way to round out your Black History Month, this tee will be available this Wednesday, February 26.

Nike‘s Flightposite model returns for the Spring 2014 season. The zippered shroud remains intact with a new “Carbon Fiber” motif for the new season. Sporting a clean and classic Black/Black-Metallic Silver colorway, the release sees the silhouette’s usual Foamposite paneling replaced with carbon fiber. The comeback of Dikembe Mutombo’s signature adidas shoe rolls over into 2014, with the retro ’90s silhouette coming in a new Running White and Blue colorway. The fresh design features a white leather base accented with hits of blue at the quarter panel, heel and outsole. In addition to Motombo’s 55 uniform number, there’s the signature shield logo on the tongue and geometric print along the side and interior, both giving the nod to Dikembe’s African heritage. Nike ups the level of the level of creativity as it presents this new ICE take on the classic Air Max 90 running silhouette. The model gets its name from the translucent fused into its build. The first of its kind is the Gym Red/Neon colorway, featuring a red synthetic upper with a tonal crystalline pattern of geometric shapes and matching tonal laces. Ewing Athletics is back in Spring 2014 to drop of a new trio of releases, with each of the big three models that have retroed up to this point represented. The first release in the pack is the Ewing Focus, built in a bold red suede, followed by the Ewing 33 Hi in black suede with white hits located on the oversized tongue, heel straps, and outsole. Joyich releases its second collaboration with The Simpsons for its 2014 spring/summer collection. The Los Angeles based brand teamed up with Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation to combine its street style and Simpson’s classic animation for another colorful and eye catching collaboration to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of The Simpsons. The collection keeps the Joyrich street aesthetic combined with Bart Simpson graphics and 90’s hip hop style. The collection ranges from street inspired fits with Bart Simpson prints, and comes in varsity jackets, over-sized tees, sweats, and snapbacks.

Wish “Roses” Black History Month Capsule

“Don’t give me roses when I’m gone. Give them to me while I’m still here, and can smell them.” -Mabel Williams.

Out of this quote is where our “Roses” capsule was born. To celebrate Black History Month this year, we chose to honor figures who not only inspired change in American history, but also are still alive today. Through a capsule consisting completely of graphic t-shirts, we elevated the likenesses of Muhhamad Ali, Maya Angelou, Bill Cosby, Stevie Wonder, and Spike Lee, representing the arenas of sports, poetry, television, music, and film. To bring our ideas to life, we enlisted local Atlanta artist Markeidric Walker to illustrate each of our honorees. Releasing one of our “Roses” tees per day, the capsule release begins today.

Coming Soon: Nike Basketball 2014 All-Star “NOLA Gumbo League” Collection

For All-Star Weekend, Nike Basketball salutes the unique flavor of New Orleans with the 2014 “NOLA Gumbo League” Collection, featuring the Lebron 11, KD VI, Lil Penny Posite, and Air Up ’14. The Lebron XI, dubbed the “Gator King,” sees graphic textures throughout the shoe inspired by gators, often a symbol of protection in New Orleans culture. Invisible to the naked eye, hand-drawn patterns come to life as the Hyperposite bucket of the shoe glows in the dark. Following this up is the KD VI “Illusion” showcases hand-drawn patterns on the upper emulating Durant’s fluidity on the court. A glow-in-the-dark outsole also represents the spark of KD’s game. Contrasting the glow in the dark look, the Lil Penny Posite features black posite panelling and red accenting and a glow in the dark outsole. Other accenting details include a voodoo print on the panelling, featuring lobster engravings. Rounding out the NOLA themed Nike basketball collection is the Nike Air Up ’14, resembling fresh-out-of-the-pot crawdads with a crustacean-red upper complete with water droplets and a steamy graphic.
