The Nike Basketball brand is prepping to release its “Elite” collection, this time dipping into the “Elevate” series from the Nike LeBron XII stash and Nike Kobe X – as it further rounds out other successful releases such as the likes of Nike KD 7 “Elevate.” Utilizing the sky as an inspiration for its based color theme, the LeBron 12 Elite “Elevate” infuse a more tranquil blue tone for its radiant silhouette makeup. Along with its exceptional mesh composition, the shoe also includes a winged composite with splashes of white towards the forefront of the kicks, as well as hints of bright orange on the inner lining and laces for good measure. The Kobe 10 Elite has received a hightop cut, constructed of Nike’s Flyknit technology, supported via Dynamic Flywire. This particular colorway has been equipped with a light grey base, with sections of the sneaker revealing a turquoise lining. A black swoosh stands out among the light colors, while an aquamarine sole provides the cushioning.

Today, LeBron James can boast over 10 All-Star appearances, multiple MVP awards and the game’s most precious accomplishment. Before it all, he took part in one of the most highly anticipated Rookie challenges ever, racking up 33 points for the now legendary 2003-2004 rookie class. The special moment called for special footwear, with LeBron wearing his debut Air Zoom Generation in the now highly coveted ‘Wheat’ make-up. Geared for off-court use, the LeBron XII EXT features a wheat nubuck upper with metallic gold accents. As a nod to LeBron’s memorable rookie challenge performance, the heel pull-tab displays the date 2.13.04. Classic LeBron branding on the tongue tab and sockliner tie back to the legendary Air Zoom Generation.

For All-Star Weekend, Nike Basketball salutes the unique flavor of New Orleans with the 2014 “NOLA Gumbo League” Collection, featuring the Lebron 11, KD VI, Lil Penny Posite, and Air Up ’14. The Lebron XI, dubbed the “Gator King,” sees graphic textures throughout the shoe inspired by gators, often a symbol of protection in New Orleans culture. Invisible to the naked eye, hand-drawn patterns come to life as the Hyperposite bucket of the shoe glows in the dark. Following this up is the KD VI “Illusion” showcases hand-drawn patterns on the upper emulating Durant’s fluidity on the court. A glow-in-the-dark outsole also represents the spark of KD’s game. Contrasting the glow in the dark look, the Lil Penny Posite features black posite panelling and red accenting and a glow in the dark outsole. Other accenting details include a voodoo print on the panelling, featuring lobster engravings. Rounding out the NOLA themed Nike basketball collection is the Nike Air Up ’14, resembling fresh-out-of-the-pot crawdads with a crustacean-red upper complete with water droplets and a steamy graphic. Be on the lookout for this collection coming soon to Wish.

To round out the 103 holiday season, Nike chooses the Lebron XI to extend the popular Dunkman theme. What appears to be the green colorway option, multiple shades of the muted hue have been utilized throughout the Hyperposite upper. Neon mica green touches line the sneaker and are also presented in the lacing system and matching branding. With signature Lebron Dunkman tagging being strategically utilized on the insole as well as the tongue tab, this release will be available soon at Wish.

Nike continues the momentum of its Nike Lebron line with the release of the Nike Lebron XI Armory Slate. This shoe pairs the grey hue with Gamma Blue on its Hyperposite upper, with more colorful hits on the tongue logo, Swoosh and lace tips. A lighter shade of Armory Blue also finds a place on the upper and finishes off the outsole tread below. A solid new addition to the Lebron XI family, this sneaker will be available soon at Wish.
Nike releases the newest iteration of the well received Nike Lebron XI model, giving fans a preview of what King James may be sporting on the road this upcoming season. Carrying a colorway that mimics that of the Heat away uniforms, the Hyperfuse build of the shoe is based in black, while the actual shell of the shoe is covered in red. A contrasting, white Swoosh, with red Flywire lace locks and Black/White laces, compliment the shoe’s vibrant appeal. Releasing soon, be on the lookout for these here at Wish.

Constantly on the verge of innovation, Nike chooses to makeover another one of its models, this time choosing the ever-popular Lebron X. The result is a transformation of the X to the XI. This rendition sees the angular sneaker featuring a primarily dark olive upper. The “Parachute Gold” comes into play with the Gold plating that makes up the outer layer of the shoe, which divides the upper from the Tiffany blue outsole. Another stunning element of the shoe lies within the shoe, displaying an interesting graphic. Be on the lookout for these relasing soon at Wish.

The Nike NSW Lifestyle segment takes a swing at remixing two of Nike’s most popular basketball models: the KD VI and the Lebron X. The KD VI Lifestyle NSW shoe, wrapped in polka-dot spotted grey, is a special release in honor of Kevin Durant’s 25th birthday. The boot-like version of the basketball silhouette features an exaggerated black KD-embroidered tongue with hot pink sides, D-ring eyelets, and a bright light blue midsole. On the more casual side of things, the Lebron X NSW Lifestyle features a mainly Black upper sitting atop a white vulcanized midsole. Perhaps the most interesting feature of the shoe is the herringbone pattern featured on the Tweed material found on the tongue and inside of the sneaker.

For those who were at Wish this Saturday, it was obvious that the Lebron X Cork release caused a lot of commotion in the sneaker community. On top of the huge release and the line wrapped around the store, we had the creator of the madness present in store to sign boxes, shoes, and even in-soles. Take a look at some quotes from Jonathan Johnson-Griffin and the images we captured on Saturday below:
JJG: “We were talking to Lebron and he was saying that he kind of wanted to give it that champagne bang feeling. And it’s based all around the idea of popping bottles… When you hear that champagne bang of the cork popping, you know you won a championship.”
This “champagne bang” aspect of the design is evident in Jonathan’s “Popping Bottles!” signature.
Can you take us through higlights of the design/production process?
JJG: “For me the higlights [of the production process] are sketching and working with the athletes to dive into his life and extract different details that are really rich that we can tell different stories around.”
