Coming Soon: Just Don x Air Jordan 2 “Beach”

Last years collaboration between Just Don and Jordan Brand was met with major success, displaying Don C’s ability to make a unique and beautiful Air Jordan. Choosing to use the Air Jordan 2 Retro as his canvas once again, Don decidedly sticks with a single tone for this release as well. Coming in a sandy tan, the sneaker is wrapped in a quilted premium leather, with hints of suede finishing off the upper. The packaging impresses as well with its giant red box, matching the hat included in the pack. The hat, noticeably missing the patent snakeskin leather familiar to Just Don caps, trades for a simple red leather which makes up the entirety of the cap. Be on the look out for raffle details coming next Thursday for your chance to be able to purchase a pair of the Just Don x Air Jordan 2’s, with the shoes dropping next Saturday, January 30th.

After a few low renditions of Air Jordan releases such as the Air Jordan 4 and Air Jordan 1, Jordan Brand is back with a rarely seen Air Jordan 5 Low. Taking a colorway that could’ve been taken out of the early 90’s, the sneaker features a Black/Metallic look, while trading the translucent misole for a bright Gym Red adding some pop. All of the same Air Jordan 5 features are visible such as the lace locks notable to the silhouette. The Air Jordan 5 Low “Alternate” will release this Saturday, January 30th.

2016 Nike/Air Jordan Black History Month Collection

Since 2005, Nike has managed to bring some of their latest and greatest models together to honor Black History Month in new and exciting ways. This year is perhaps Nike’s most ambitious BHM Collection, given that there are 28 total products being released throughout January and February including 14 festive footwear releases, each tying into the spirit of overcoming odds with hard work and dedication. Inspired by three of Nike’s most profound athletes in LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Chris Kevin Durrant, the Swoosh has used each athlete’s extreme work ethic and dedication off of the playing field to honor the spirit of Black History Month.

For Nike Basketball, the four-headed monster that is their signature line returns with special edition releases of the Nike Kobe 11, Nike LeBron 13, Nike KD 8, and Nike Kyrie 2. Each manages to redefine festive colorways with black bases and colorful accents in tribal themes throughout the branding, numerous straps, overlays, and outsoles.

Jordan Brand has simplified their collection this year, focusing on the tried and true silhouette that is the Air Jordan 1 through the releases of an Air Jordan 1 High Nouveau “BHM” and a special Air Jordan 1 High exclusively for girls will release at retailers later this month.

Air Jordan Horizon “Black History Month”

Following up on the success of the introduction of the Air Jordan Horizon silhouette by Public School, Jordan Brand is back with yet another loud graphic on the sneaker. This time adding Concord Purple accents to the design, the sneaker comes dressed in a supreme quality make up. Look for this one to drop on January 16th, perfectly timed, as we approach the start of Black History Month.

Coming Soon: Air Jordan 8 “Chrome”

Air-Jordan-8-Retro-Chrome-1Following up on the recently released Aqua 8’s, Jordan Brand is back with the next Air Jordan 8 release to end the year strong. Featuring all the signature features that made the sneaker iconic, this “Chrome” rendition takes a more neutral approach with its color palette, featuring black, white, and grey hues. Fun fact about this one: this is the sneaker Kobe Bryant was wearing in 2003 when he drove baseline past Kevin Garnett and the Timberwolves and threw down a double clutched dunk for one of the illest jams in NBA history. It seems Jordan Brand doesn’t look to slow down anytime soon, as December has already seen some major Air Jordan releases, such as last weeks Air Jordan “72-10”, and now you can get your hands on another major Jordan release just in time for Christmas as this one drops December 19th. Coming Soon: Air Jordan 11 Retro “72-10”

Air-Jordan-11-Retro-72-10-1Christmas comes early this year for sneakerheads around the globe with the release of the iconic Air Jordan 11 Retro “72-10”. The sneaker, which is a nod to the iconic 1996 season in which Michael led the Chicago Bulls to a record setting 72-10 season, features a bevy of premium materials to differentiate it from other popular Jordan releases. Materials used range from tumbled and patent leather to suede on the heel, and capped off by a semi-icey sole. Details for this one consist of a stripe on the tongue, a red Jumpman on the heel, and “72-10” detail on the lace tips. Don’t blink twice as this historic sneaker will be out before you know it, as it is currently set for a December 12th release. Coming Soon: Air Jordan 6 “Maroon”

Maroon-6-Blog-1More than 20 years since its original release in 1991, the Air Jordan 6 “Maroon” sees its return once again, but this time in its original 1991 make up. For sneakerheads, the return of the “Nike Air” branding is a big deal, especially since its last retro was noticeably missing it. Aside from the nostalgic return of the “Nike Air”, the OG colorways are well intact, from the beautiful off-white upper, to the maroon detailing throughout. What makes this retro even more special is that it falls in line with the rest of the recent “remastered” sneakers from Jordan Brand. This one in particular has to be one of the more impressive sneakers from the remastered program, with its beautiful premium leather, to the shape the shoe takes, coming in very close to what a 1991 OG sneaker would have looked like new. Keep your eyes peeled as this nostalgic sneaker drops this Saturday, December 5th.Maroon-6-Blog-3 Maroon-6-Blog-4 Maroon-6-Blog-5Maroon-6-Blog-2
