Wish x adidas “Independent Currency” Launch Event Recap

Last week we teamed up with adidas Originals to celebrate the release of our SL Loop Runner “Independent Currency” shoe. Set to sounds from DJ Don Cannon, our Moreland Avenue location was transformed with full-sized adidas window displays and real $2 bills in the floor. With a sold-out RSVP list and a line out the door, the guests who arrived early were given a chance to buy the shoes before anyone else and received a free tee with purchase. Quenching the thirst of the attendees, a full bar was provided featuring beverages by D’usse and Dos Equis. Along with an animated photo booth by Smilebooth and an appearance by the $2 Bill Man himself, Steven Reisman, the store was filled with all of the support the city had to offer. A Night With Jordan Brand Recap Photos

Our “A Night With Jordan Brand” event with Senior Global Design Director Jason Mayden and Director of Energy Footwear Gemo Wong that took place this past Friday night was not only a special night for us here at Wish, but also the city of Atlanta, and all of our supporters. Attendees got more than what they bargained for, as the night was not only about sneakers and fashion, but also about career goals, character building, and life lessons from the Jordan Brand Senior Directors. However, the night consisted of more than just presentations from Mayden and Wong, who after their talks were able to have one-on-one conversations with guests and even critique several creative portfolios. Perhaps the most fascinating part of the night came as ten raffle winners were selected to preview future Jordan Brand models and a select two had the priveledge of designing their own custom pair of Nike i.D. sneakers with Mayden and Wong. With drinks sponsored by Mountain Dew, the night also saw a one-of-a-kind limited sneaker collection by Tennesee native Joseph Privitte, a special appearance by rapper Killer Mike, and a custom pair of Wish Air Jordan 3 Retro Doernbechers.

If you weren’t able to attend, or just want to refresh your memory, take a look at images from the memorable night below:

We still have a couple t-shirts left here at the shop, so stop by and grab one or call 404.880.0402 Ext.2 to place a phone order. Also, make sure you stop by the High Museum of Art to check out his newest exhibit which kicks off February 16th.

Wish x Mishka x No Brakes Event Recap

Well, we’ve had a busy past week up here at the shop. Two weekends ago was the No Brakes and Mishka Bike Race event. The Monday after Married to the MOB stopped by and threw a dope Pop-Up shop. And then, needless to say, the Final Warehouse Sale this past weekend was just crazy. We’ll be posting up pics from the last couple events through the day.

First up is the Mishka x Wish x No Brakes event pics. The Bike race, which was sponsored by Pabst Blue Ribbon [more]and a slew of other bicycle gear companies, was amazing. It kicked off at No Brakes and took contestants through various stops throughout the city. The goal was to complete all the objectives (such as chugging a beer) at each stop and make it to the end as soon as possible. Margaritas were served at the Wish stop and the guys had a chance to kick it with the whole Wish staff and chop it up for a few minutes before hitting the road again. In order to win the race, contestants had to choose from a select handful of designs and get it tattoed on them from either Ink & Dagger or Memorial Tattoo. That’s intense. Follow the jump for all the pics.

Free Food and Beer? Of course.

It was good to see a diverse crowd among the contestants. We saw a mesh of No Brakes customers as well as some Wish homeys.

I think it stayed on his helmet the whole race…

Those shoes look familiar…

As the people started to arrive at Wish a good crowd started developing throughout the night at Wish.

This was by far one the best things we saw throughout the night. No, it was not open…
