adidas Originals reaches back into its archive for a two pack Americana Hi 88 for Fall/Winter 2013. The pair builds on the same timeless, 1970s basketball silhouette draping the entire upper of both shoes in a supple, tonal suede. Two colors – “Gold Rod” and “Res Red” are offered up this time and set atop pure white outsoles. In addition to the matching glossy lace eyelets and tonal red piping and laces, contrasting gold foil is seen emblazoned along the side profile and tongue hit.

Last retroed in 2000, Air Jordan is taking is bringing back another classic after nearly 13 years in the form of the Air Jordan 5 Retro “Laney High.” Featuring a predominantely white leather upper, the pair sees an interplay of Varsity Maize/Varsity Royal that give nod to Michael Jordan’s High School. Converse First String 2013 Pro Leather Mid Zip “Pine Cone”

Over the years, the line has not only been effective at its original product line and execution, but it’s also done a stellar job of elevating the Converse name across all categories. For once, it looks like the men may be envying a womens style shoe. For some reason or another, the Jordan Beaverton camp has decided to release these only in a “Girls Air Jordan” Grade School sizing. The classic Air Jordan 10 Retro is making a return in an ill “Fusion Red” colorway. Mocked up in traditional full grain leathers, the pair rests atop a red and black outsole and is paired with a Fusion Red/Black checkered interior lining. Expect these to arrive soon through Wish. Retail will be $120 USD.

New Balance Made in England MB1500MRG Purple/Orange “Virginia Tech”

New Balance steps into the college football season correct with the introduction of the Made in England MB1500MRG. While it hasn’t been officially branded as such, the colorway is an all-but-subtle nod to Virginia Tech in its execution and interplay of purple and orange. Situated atop a pure white midsole and black undersole, the trademark “MADE IN ENGLAND” text is seen emblazoned across the tongue. Two pairs of laces are included in the set – both purple and orange – while the interior lining and various accents throughout see contrasting hits of orange.

The Hundreds 2013 Fall Ikat Johnson Mid “Cactus”

Bobby Hundreds and Ben Hundreds – both co-founders of the now famous The Hundreds brand – have certainly come a long way from mocking up graphic tees in their old LA studio. Having expanded beyong the small Fairfax location to a multitude of shops throughout the globe, the brand also ventured into footwear a few years ago. While the initial “The Hundreds Footware” collection was admittedly lacking in quality and construction, The Hundreds has also ramped up its Footware segment for the better. Having onboarded a range of new designers as well as behind-the-scenes quality control experts, The Hundreds footware is now poised to take up a substantial section of your shoe closet.

The latest model comes in the form of the Ikat Johnson Mid in a special “Cactus” iteration. As the title implies, the mid-top silhouette is draped in an all-over print cactus motif that sees a firey concoction of black, vibrant orange and off-white. Orange laces and a pure white vulcanized outsole round things out.

COMING SOON: Air Jordan XX8 “Elephant Print” Pack

When the Tinker Hatfield and Josh Heard designed Air Jordan XX8 was first introduced this year, it was skeptically received by critics and footwear aficianados. And yet, since its inception, those who have had the chance to put these on court and get some play time out of them, have had nothing but good things to say for the most part. Applying one of its age old motifs to a modern Jordan model, the Jordan Brand camp readies the release of the Air Jordan XX8 “Elephant Print” Pack. Aptly titled, the shoe’s exterior glove boasts a predominantly elephant print motif while a carbon fiber midsole and a pure white outsole.

For Fall/Winter 2013 Humberto Leon and Carol Lim and their Opening Ceremony imprint have aligned yet again with adidas Originals for a fashion-meets-sport iteration. Perhaps the most fully integrated between the two realms, the collection is being touted as the “BBALL” collection and sees a cheeky all-over print paisley pattern that is crafted from an unconventional Basketball influence. The trio of arrivals from the Top Ten Bball as well as two colorways of the Pro Model Bball. The Pro Model Bball executions see augmented double zippers along the lace vamps as well as patent leather Three Stripes and the customary paisley print.
