Shwood “Ashland” in East Indian Rosewood | Summer ’11
One of the best parts about being in the industry is being able to grow and develop the shop and Wish brand with like-minded creatives and brands. Since working with Shwood Eyewear last summer on a custom make up of their Govy style, the Portland, Oregon, based brand has developed not only their aesthetics, but also their build quality. Adding spring-loaded hinges to better fit your head, a premium drawstring pouch and three-ply stronger wood.
Their latest style is an aviator-inspired silhouette that pays homage to classic utilitarian design. Vans Vault has had some crazy success since teaming up with Taka Hayashi. Taka’s incredible eye for premium materials, and composition shines (arguably) the most in the laid back Derby TH LX in silhouette. We already showed you the “Dust” colorway of this shoe a month or so ago, now Spring Delivery #2 brings the “Dark Gull Grey”. Built on a premium crepe sole, the upper is comprised of an premium grey suede with triangle perforations. Waxed circle laces fit perfectly in the four-eye panel. Vans OTW “Black Outs” Pack – Canvas & Leather
Twin brothers Ako and Atiba Jefferson, also known as DJ duo The Blackouts, add a signature Vans OTW Larkin sneaker to their CV. Given the opportunity to work on their own OTW style, the brothers deconstructed the Larkin by removing all the padding, then updated the uppers with premium black materials, finally adding “The Blackouts” insoles and heel tags. Ako’s shoe is done in premium full grain leather with perforated quarter panels, while Atiba’s features a premium canvas upper with binding detail. Boasting 4 different colorways, Undefeated teamed up with Puma for a round of their Clyde silhouette for an April 10, 2011 release. Branded the “Stripe off” pack, Undefeated took the classic Clyde silhouette and cleaned it up with a removal of the Puma stripe along the outside upper. Additionally, they also mocked up every colorway in a premium, soft-leather upper. These ultra-clean kicks are available in black, white, grey and forest green.
