To celebrate Black History Month this year, we chose to honor figures who not only inspired change in American history, but also are still alive today. Through a capsule consisting completely of graphic t-shirts, we elevated the likenesses of Marcus Garvey, Blackstar, and June Jordan representing the arenas of poetry, music, and film. To bring our ideas to life, we enlisted quotes by each individual artist.
