Coming Soon: Air Jordan 8 Retro ‘Championship’ Pack

The 1993 Air Jordan VIII was introduced as MJ was on his way to a third consecutive title. Wearing the cross-strapped design, he eventually captured the trophy yet again. Three trophies later and over two decades since, the iconic Air Jordan VIII returns in celebratory fashion. Luxurious leather structures the design, and comes coupled with golden accents as a nod to MJ’s third career championship trophy. The finger prints throughout the gold symbolize the moment of His Airness’ teammates passing around the Larry O’Brien trophy in celebration. Hidden under the cross-straps, lies a triumphant message: ‘WORLD CHAMPIONS’ and ‘AGAIN AND AGAIN’. For the other, the sneaker comes dressed in all black leather, with confetti detailing along the side. The Air Jordan 8 Retro ‘Championship Trophy’ Pack will be available this Saturday, June 25th.

Coming Soon: Air Jordan 8 “Chrome”

Air-Jordan-8-Retro-Chrome-1Following up on the recently released Aqua 8’s, Jordan Brand is back with the next Air Jordan 8 release to end the year strong. Featuring all the signature features that made the sneaker iconic, this “Chrome” rendition takes a more neutral approach with its color palette, featuring black, white, and grey hues. Fun fact about this one: this is the sneaker Kobe Bryant was wearing in 2003 when he drove baseline past Kevin Garnett and the Timberwolves and threw down a double clutched dunk for one of the illest jams in NBA history. It seems Jordan Brand doesn’t look to slow down anytime soon, as December has already seen some major Air Jordan releases, such as last weeks Air Jordan “72-10”, and now you can get your hands on another major Jordan release just in time for Christmas as this one drops December 19th. History of the Jordan VIII

In honor of the Air Jordan VIII release tomorrow, we wanted to give you some history on this highly anticipated release. Tinker Hatfield wanted the Air Jordan 8 to not feature a Nike sign. He thought the Jordan Brand was strong enough at this point to hold its own. Tinker brought up to Nike that the Jordan line was strong enough to start eliminating the Nike sign at the AJ VI. After Tinker was done telling his story, Nike pretty much laughed in his face.

It took a lot of time, and a lot of convincing to make this happen, but it finally went through. If you look at the Original Air Jordan VIII model you will notice there is no Nike sign.

The Air Jordan VIII started a lot of talk through sneaker heads, basketball players, or people that enjoyed a pair of Nike’s. The design was crazy, the AJ 8 also had a polycarbonate torsion plate, and to top it all off, the color ways blew people away.

Michael Jordan, Bugs Bunny and Marvin the Martian have developed a relationship with many commercials promoting the Air Jordan Original 8 (VIII) in 1993. One pair which was apart of the commercials is the Air Jordan Original 8 (VIII) White / Black – True Red aka Bugs Bunny. The Air Jordan Original VIII (8) Bugs Bunny White / Black – True Red received its nickname not only from the commercials, but the straps. Many have said the straps resemble Bunny ears.

The Air Jordan 8 (VIII) OG Bugs Bunny White / Black – True Red release February 1993 and will be available at Wish this Saturday in store and by phone order only.
