Coming Soon: Air Jordan 8 Retro ‘Championship’ Pack

The 1993 Air Jordan VIII was introduced as MJ was on his way to a third consecutive title. Wearing the cross-strapped design, he eventually captured the trophy yet again. Three trophies later and over two decades since, the iconic Air Jordan VIII returns in celebratory fashion. Luxurious leather structures the design, and comes coupled with golden accents as a nod to MJ’s third career championship trophy. The finger prints throughout the gold symbolize the moment of His Airness’ teammates passing around the Larry O’Brien trophy in celebration. Hidden under the cross-straps, lies a triumphant message: ‘WORLD CHAMPIONS’ and ‘AGAIN AND AGAIN’. For the other, the sneaker comes dressed in all black leather, with confetti detailing along the side. The Air Jordan 8 Retro ‘Championship Trophy’ Pack will be available this Saturday, June 25th.

In honor of the Air Jordan VIII release tomorrow, we wanted to give you some history on this highly anticipated release. Tinker Hatfield wanted the Air Jordan 8 to not feature a Nike sign. He thought the Jordan Brand was strong enough at this point to hold its own. Tinker brought up to Nike that the Jordan line was strong enough to start eliminating the Nike sign at the AJ VI. After Tinker was done telling his story, Nike pretty much laughed in his face.
