On March 26, 1987, Nike debuted the Air Max 1, its first sneaker showcasing the Swoosh’s now iconic Air technology through a side-visibility window. Thirty-three years later, and with the ever improving innovations of Nike Air, the company still celebrates the revolutionary cushioning platform on the release date of its first shoe. 

This Air Max Day, Nike pays homage to the countless Air Max variations over the years that paved the way for the future of Air. This year boasts a collection of releases, from flips of some old favorites to introducing a new member to the Air Max lineage.

The Air Max 90 “Reverse Duck Camo” is a flip on the popular Atmos Air Max 90 “Duck Camo.”
The Air Max 90 is being re-released in a trio dubbed the “Metallic Pack” for its gold, silver & bronze color-ways in the silhouettes recently adjusted vintage shape.
The Air Max 2090 utilizes the same DNA that made the Air Max so popular 30 years ago, with a some material upgrades to provide a futuristic feel.

Nike brings back its “Winter” version of the Air Max 90, equipped with a winterized traction sole to get you through rougher weather. The clean sneaker sees a split personality with the top half of the upper being made up of black nubuck. For the other half, Nike has chosen to go with a squadron blue premium leather. You won’t want to be without this one has temperatures begin to drop, as the added traction from this Air Max 90 will keep you covered.

Coming Soon: Nike Air Max 90 “Sweets” City Pack

Nike cues some of the most fashion-forward cities in the world for their new special “Sweets” city pack. Each of the six models in the pack takes a different cities signature dessert for each sneakers color scheme. From the infamous New York style strawberry cheesecake to the classic mararoons native to Paris, this pack produces some very unique colorways and textures. Some of the other cities included in this pack consist of Tokyo, Milan, Shanghai, and London.

Nike Air Max 90 Ultra BS QS Pack

Nike has transformed its classic Nike Air Max 90 silhouette into the perfect summer shoe, the Nike Air Max 90 Ultra Breeze Plus QS. Released in a pack that includes a trio of Air Max 90 Ultra Breeze Plus colorways. The silhouette feature the traditional style as the Air Max 90, but the upper has been replaced with a full open mesh construction. The mesh upper is ideal for breathability, all while being lightweight and maintaining a true sneaker build.

Nike’s revolutionary Air-Sole unit made its way into Nike footwear in the late ’70s. In 1987, the Nike Air Max debuted with visible air in its heel, allowing fans more than just the feel of Air-Sole comfort. Suddenly they could see it. And just a few years later, the next-generation Nike Air Max 90 became a hit with both athletes and collectors by offering striking colour combinations, lightweight performance and a cushioned ride.

This new arrival from Nike proves that not only big ticket release items deserve to be raved about. From the Nike Sportswear line comes the Nike Air Max 90 Premium Grey Sail. Covered in fine canvas, the shoe features a monotone color combination, which features a primarily black and white upper juxtaposed by a much brighter grey, which makes an appearance on the ankle area, lining, and outsole. Meanwhile, tonal black laces and a Nike swoosh finish out the release.

Nike 2014 Holiday Air Max New Arrivals

Prepping us for the cooler months, Nike has readapted the classic runner to combat the change in season. Today, we get a closer look at the Air Max 90 Sneakerboot Ice and Air Max 1 Essential silhouette in an eye-catching frosty make-up. Leather and mesh panels are featured across the water-repellent upper, while a colorful translucent rubber sole provide greater traction and visibility on the Sneakerboot, while a combination of leather and textile upper for durability and a comfortable fit for the Air Max 1 Essential. Drawing cues from the famed ’90s training sneaker’s core aesthetics in this new vibrant remake, The Holiday Air Max Pack is now available in-store at our Moreland Ave. location and by phone orders.

When the Nike Air Max 90 Sneakerboot made its debut last year, the sneaker was already on the chunky side of any Air Max 90 creation that has ever made it to retail. For the Fall 2014 they’ve taken it next level with the chunk on the Nike Air Max 90 Winterized Sneakerboot, a build which stretches even higher up the leg and features a weatherproofing treatment that’s a bit more thorough. One of the up first pairs as far as a US drop is this one, which switches between black and reflective sections across the upper. Be on the look out for the Nike Air Max 90 Sneakerboot coming soon at our Moreland Ave. location.

Nike Womens Air Max 90 & Air Bakin’ (GS)

The ladies gets a special treat this summer with an “all black everything” Nike Air Max 90 & Air Bakin’ (GS). The “Air Bakin” is mocked up in pebbled black leather overlay with tonal base, while patent leather mudguard offers a semblance of contrast without deviating from the monochromatic theme. Rounding out the delivery is the classic Nike Air Max 90 with black leather side panels and white midsole.

The warmer weather requires fewer layers, more colors, and minimal mix of materials. New York City, in particular, demands a dramatic change in dress from previous months, as the scorching sun turns the coolest of cool into puddles of perspiration. The latest “City Pack” makes over two fresh silhouettes for the summertime. Both, the Air Max 90 Ice and the Rosherun NM, draw inspiration from the leisurely lifestyle of New York vacationers. Featuring an all-over polkadot print, both designs employ sublimated canvas upper for a lightweight feel. Distinct Nike and NYC badge is seen through out the tongue to finish the complete look. Nike Air Max 90 Ice & Jacquard “Infrared”

Prior to “Air Max Day”, Nike has released two new colorway of the Air Max 90 Ice “Infrared” and the “JCRD.” Coming alongside the Air Max 90 Ice “Infrared” features an ice white/cool grey-black-infrared colorway with black geometric prints throughout the shoe. Semi translucent black and infrared overlays and an icy midsole with contrasting inner Phylon cushioning lend the shoe futuristic look. In other hand, the “Jacquard” is a retouch of the original Air Max 90 with an updated woven textile and synthetic upper for a premium fit and comfortable feel.

Nike ups the level of the level of creativity as it presents this new ICE take on the classic Air Max 90 running silhouette. The model gets its name from the translucent fused into its build. The first of its kind is the Gym Red/Neon colorway, featuring a red synthetic upper with a tonal crystalline pattern of geometric shapes and matching tonal laces. The toned-down colorway is accented by the bright red panel surrounding the Air Max unit at the outsole. Get ready for these releasing soon at Wish.

Here we have the second installment of the Nike Spring/Summer 2012 delivery that has some great new color-ways for those sunnier Atl days with some new and classic styles. Kicking it for the girls we have two runners for the girls both in the Lunar family the Nike Lunar Always TR in Pure Platinum/Metallic Silver-Pink Flash and the Lunarfly 3 Cool Grey Pink Flash. Valentines Day being a month away start it off with the Nike Air Max Navigate Heart Trainer in White/Varsity Red – Black. For the guys the Nike Air Trainer Classic in iconic White/Black – Fire Red, the Nike Air Max 90 for those Virginia Tech fans in a brand new color-way for 2012 Red Mahogany/White-Neutral Grey-Safety Orange, Last we have another Air Max 90 claimed the “Volt” definitely the heavy hitter of the delivery in Black/White-Volt.
