The Fall/Winter collection maintains the brand’s hallmark patterns and Identity remains an important factor at Daily Paper that always finds a way to incorporate the founder’s Dutch and African heritage in its collections. For the artworks used on patches and prints Daily Paper looked in to the history of Burkina Faso for inspiration. Most of the prints and artworks are inspired from military emblems worn and used in Burkina Faso under the rule of one of Africa’s most revolutionary leaders Thomas Sankara. Thomas Sankara was viewed by supporters as a charismatic and iconic figure of revolution and is commonly referred to as “Africa’s Che Guevara”. For this collection a variety of different fabrics has been utilized such as lambs wool, woven cotton and nylon to provide a mix of formal and casual looks. Vintage military inspired jackets are matched with piquet polo’s, while a selection of cotton twill bottoms complete the looks of this season.
