Vans Vault team up with esteemed designer and painter Taka Hayashi; creating their 15th collaboration with Native American influences and generations of detailed craftsmanship. Built from nubuck leather uppers, this Sk8 Skool LX takes cues from original designs but is elevated with innovative elements like the icon side stripe being reimagined in a top stitched iteration and contrasting ‘destroy’ panel to the front of the shoe. The supple leather uppers are fastened with rope-like laces, sitting upon the striped waffle rubber outsole and finished with collaborative branding to the tongue and heel decal. The Slip On 66 LX, on the other hand, takes cues from the original, but elevates the design with nubuck leather uppers for a premium finish. The shoe sits on a classic waffle rubber outsole that’s been updated with a directional stripe pattern, while the Japanese designer adds wavy stripe embroidery and a debossed pattern to the heel.
