For Spring 2015, Barcelona based boutique TWOTHIRDS joined forces with Vans Vault to create a collaboration themed after the ocean. This capsule is dedicated to one Sentinel in an effort to generate awareness of the particular sphere of activity they impact as individuals making a difference. A TWOTHIRDS Sentinel is someone who puts their talent and passion to the task of protecting and preserving our oceans. Featuring a “Patriot Blue” base colorway with hints of light blue on the vans stripe, laces, and water like print at the top of the shoe.
Acclaimed designer and artist Taka Hayashi concludes the spring 2015 season of Vault by Vans by introducing the TH Chukka Gore LX. By elevating the aesthetic of the Vans Chukka Boot with a deluxe material palette and a sophisticated, slimmed-down form, Taka Hayashi presents his new Chelsea boot-inspired silhouette in a “Turkish Coffee” premium colorway.
Taka Hayashi‘s re-imagining of the Vans Mid Skool, the TH Sk8 Mid Skool LX is returning in two new colorways. Vans’ iconic checkerboard pattern is the focus for both, with premium black leather and a brick suede color-up, featuring handwoven detailing on its side panel. Embossed herringbone toe bumpers, pressed diamond patterned sidewalls and Taka Hayashi branding completes the package, with the shoes set to retail at $160 USD
Vans continues its streak of Vault releases with latest installment of the Old Skool LX. This time in a iconic version that add a luxurious twist thanks to the clean all white leather while maintaing the overall shape and classic loved look. Sitting atop the brand’s notable vulcanized sole, the Old Skool LX maintains its California vibes.
In time for the Spring 2014 season, the simplistic canvas silhouette gets an update with another collaborative effort with Taka Hayashi. Simultaneously celebrating this and current sneaker trend, Vans Vault has released three renditions of its toughest models. The Vans Vault TH Derby 2 LX, TH Court Hi LX, and TH Sk8-Mid LX have each been done up in the rough, earthy aesthetic. The Court Hi LX sports a pixel camo pattern composed of small squares in a range of earthy tones across the quarter panels while the Sk8-Mid LX sees a vibrant Chimayo fabric featured on the quarter panels. Vans continues its streak of Vault releases with latest installment of the Era LX. Sporting a textile woven upper, the Vans Vault Era LX Tortoise Shell reworks the classic silhouette with a fabricated multi color design overlay. Sitting atop the brand’s iconic vulcanized sole, the Era LX maintains its California vibes.
Vans arrives this season with the popular Sk8-Hi Reissue model made over in LX form, meaning premium materials were used in its construction. With leather a dark earthy leather covering the side panels, a nice zip structural upgrade adds even more of a premium look at the heel. Rounded out with light brown accents seen on the toe box, back heel, and lining the upper, this shoe is available now at Wish.
Continuing the very successful series of collaborations between Vans Vault and Taka Hayashi, the two entities get together again to create some pieces for the upcoming Fall/Winter season. This time, the two designers decided to take on both a TH Court Hi LX and TH Half Cab LX model. For the Court Hi model, they applied a tropical skull and parrot pattern to the side panels, adding hairy suede on the toebox, tongue, and heel. For the re-working of Steve Caballero‘s classic signature Half Cab LX model, Hayashi and Vans Vault apply batik-inspired prints throughout along with perforated paneling and custom embroidery to premium materials and revamped branding.
Vans Vault has dropped some great footwear for Spring 2012. Each style features their own perks such as tubular leather and nubuck uppers. The Sk-8 Hi also highlights the back of its silhouette with zipper detailing. The Old Skool and Chukka Bardenas LX retail for $80 USD, while the Sk-8 Hi retails at $140 USD. Arriving in a seasonally fitting color array, Vans Vault releases its latest Sk8 Hi Boat LX model in a “Vintage Tri-Tone Burgundy” variation. Mocked up in a variety of textured suede leathers, the Boat LX is comprised of Fall-themed panels atop an off-white vulcanized outsole. Rounded off with traditional leather moccasin laces. Retail is set at $90 USD, and availability is now in our online shop as well as our Moreland Ave. store.
An account that holds an extremely limited number of retailers, Vans Vault has made its way to our online shop. We’re proud to announce that moving forward, we’ll be among some fo the few select vendors to retail the Vans Vault releases through our online shop. This means you’ll be able to browse, shop and add to cart the coveted Vault styles each season. Any current styles or silhouettes that were already available in our shop are now available online to purchase, while forthcoming drops will also be made available directly online.
Having had much success over the course of the past two seasons, Vans Vault teams up with Taka Hayashi for another round of footwear releases this Fall/Winter 2011. The first offering comes in the form of a revamped Sk8 Hi TH LX in a black suede/leather tonal upper with premium calf-skin leather outsole.
Elsewhere in the Vans Vault line-up, a new style for Fall is the Cuerpo LX made in premium baby-calf high gloss leather. Tough at first touch, the leather will break in quite nicely after a few wears and give that worn in, Brooks Saddle look. Both styles are now available from our Moreland ave. location at a price point of $85 for the Cuerpo LX and $140 for the Sk8 Hi TH LX. Vans Vault shows the strength of their Summer ’11 releases through their latest collaboration project with Brother’s Marshall. Brothers Trace and Chad Marshall are well known in the California surf scene. In addition, both brothers are part owners alongside Rick Klotz in Warriors of Radness. Their latest project with Vans Vault features a nice tonal leather/snake skin upper with hints of a “moon beam” colorway shown on the insole and the lining. Ultra-clean and more than fresh, these shoes (like all Vault releases) are in limited supply at our Moreland shop for only $85. Premium materials and a stellar look…. what more could you want in a Vans Spectator?
One of our favorite tiers, Vans Vault Summer ’11 Collection releases two colorways in their Sk8 Hi Standard silhouette. Vans Vault has had some crazy success since teaming up with Taka Hayashi. Taka’s incredible eye for premium materials, and composition shines (arguably) the most in the laid back Derby TH LX in silhouette. We already showed you the “Dust” colorway of this shoe a month or so ago, now Spring Delivery #2 brings the “Dark Gull Grey”. Built on a premium crepe sole, the upper is comprised of an premium grey suede with triangle perforations. Waxed circle laces fit perfectly in the four-eye panel.
