Coming Soon: Nike Elite “Elevate” Pack

The Nike Basketball brand is prepping to release its “Elite” collection, this time dipping into the “Elevate” series from the Nike LeBron XII stash and Nike Kobe X – as it further rounds out other successful releases such as the likes of Nike KD 7 “Elevate.” Utilizing the sky as an inspiration for its based color theme, the LeBron 12 Elite “Elevate” infuse a more tranquil blue tone for its radiant silhouette makeup. Along with its exceptional mesh composition, the shoe also includes a winged composite with splashes of white towards the forefront of the kicks, as well as hints of bright orange on the inner lining and laces for good measure. The Kobe 10 Elite has received a hightop cut, constructed of Nike’s Flyknit technology, supported via Dynamic Flywire. This particular colorway has been equipped with a light grey base, with sections of the sneaker revealing a turquoise lining. A black swoosh stands out among the light colors, while an aquamarine sole provides the cushioning.

For All-Star Weekend, Nike Basketball salutes the unique flavor of New Orleans with the 2014 “NOLA Gumbo League” Collection, featuring the Lebron 11, KD VI, Lil Penny Posite, and Air Up ’14. The Lebron XI, dubbed the “Gator King,” sees graphic textures throughout the shoe inspired by gators, often a symbol of protection in New Orleans culture. Following this up is the KD VI “Illusion” showcases hand-drawn patterns on the upper emulating Durant’s fluidity on the court. A glow-in-the-dark outsole also represents the spark of KD’s game. Contrasting the glow in the dark look, the Lil Penny Posite features black posite panelling and red accenting and a glow in the dark outsole. Other accenting details include a voodoo print on the panelling, featuring lobster engravings. Nike NSW KD VI Lifestyle & Lebron X Lifestyle

The Nike NSW Lifestyle segment takes a swing at remixing two of Nike’s most popular basketball models: the KD VI and the Lebron X. The KD VI Lifestyle NSW shoe, wrapped in polka-dot spotted grey, is a special release in honor of Kevin Durant’s 25th birthday. The boot-like version of the basketball silhouette features an exaggerated black KD-embroidered tongue with hot pink sides, D-ring eyelets, and a bright light blue midsole. On the more casual side of things, the Lebron X NSW Lifestyle features a mainly Black upper sitting atop a white vulcanized midsole. Jonathan Johnson Griffin in store Signing Recap

For those who were at Wish this Saturday, it was obvious that the Lebron X Cork release caused a lot of commotion in the sneaker community. On top of the huge release and the line wrapped around the store, we had the creator of the madness present in store to sign boxes, shoes, and even in-soles. Take a look at some quotes from Jonathan Johnson-Griffin and the images we captured on Saturday below:

Why Cork?

JJG: “We were talking to Lebron and he was saying that he kind of wanted to give it that champagne bang feeling. And it’s based all around the idea of popping bottles… When you hear that champagne bang of the cork popping, you know you won a championship.”

This “champagne bang” aspect of the design is evident in Jonathan’s “Popping Bottles!” signature.

Can you take us through higlights of the design/production process?

JJG: “For me the higlights [of the production process] are sketching and working with the athletes to dive into his life and extract different details that are really rich that we can tell different stories around.”
