A trifecta of sorts, three well-respected lifestyle boutiques recently worked with iconic, adidas Originals brand to craft their own interpretations of the Campus 80 for a “Back to Campus” pack. Major in DC, Shoe Biz in San Francisco and Major in DC teamed up for three colorways inspired by campus life and university living. For Shoe Biz, inspiration was drawn from the tanford colorways and made up in a rough-suede cardinal upper. Nicely complimentary off-white three stripes complete the silhouette. Texas’ own, Nice Kicks worked up a “Game Day” colorway in burnt orange inspired by the Lone Star State. Our homies over at Major in DC grabbed color palettes from the Georgetown colorways overlaying a nice navy blue long-haired suede.
All three colorways will be available starting September 9, 2011, in-store at our Moreland ave. location and online in our online shop. Retail is set at $88 a piece.

Possibly one of the most recognizable designs in footwear, the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star shoe was the natural collaboration choice for London-based retail store The Hideout. The Hideout, which champions a refined approach to basics, embraced the Chuck Taylor All Star shoe as an icon of minimal, clean, utilitarian design and chose to emphasize and enhance those elements with subtle details. The result are three all-new, stylish versions of the shoe with two low-tops in heavy duty duck canvas and a high-top in suede. Each feature thoughtful details like triple-needle fabrication that make the shoes more rugged, yet still true to the original design. The triple-stitch detail also evokes quality work-wear and utilitarian clothing, echoing Hideout’s principle of featuring only utility-styled goods. Other details include contrasting canvas heel stripes with stitched leather overlay detailing. Rounding out the design, the shoes look extra crisp and fresh with their clean white soles and a black license plate logo on the heel.
“We view the Chuck Taylor All Star shoe as a perfected everyday item. Its design has transcended generations and subcultures and fits alongside Hideout’s history with street style and our reverence to basics and utility,” says Hideout founder Michael Kopelman.
The Hideout debuted in London in 1999 and has become globally recognized as a top destination for premium streetwear brands. One of London’s original streetwear boutiques, Kopelman’s Hideout has pioneered the movement and the brands associated with it. The market has come to expect a lot more from Vans, the once skate-only footwear brand. Built off the back of skaters everywhere, Vans has since branched out into numerous other markets and demographs. One of our favorite ventures is their California Collection as it blends premium materials and vintage design elements all into a comfortable, wearable classic shoe. Their latest pack, the Era Wingtip CA “Leather/Wool” pack comes in two colorways, Charcoal/Dow and Dark Shadow/Charcoal. Mixing a ultra-soft leather upper with soft wool, the shoe defines the grown skater genre for Fall ’11. You can pick either colorway up in our Moreland ave. shop now, or in our online shop.
