Falling right at home in these warmer months of the year, ASICS comes through with a ‘Seersucker’ pack, utilizing the traditional pattern on two of their most popular lifestyle silhouette’s. Dressed in red and blue seersucker, the material is not something often seen on sneakers. Off-white detailing helps to accentuate the summery design, while the outsole opts for a slightly darker treatment. Look for the ASICS ‘Seersucker’ Pack to release this Saturday, May 28th.

The Air Jordan XVII+ arrived long past MJ’s days in the Windy City. The design came to life in tones unlike past Air Jordan models, sporting a color scheme inspired by his team at the time. Now, the modern design reaches back into the history books for a new Chicago-inspired look in fitting retro fashion. The classic silhouette features a black premium leather upper with red hits on the Jumpman symbols and lace loops, in addition to red highlights that brighten the back half of the shoe. Look for the ‘Bulls’ version of the AJ 17+ to drop this Sunday, May 29th in-store and by phone order.
Known for bringing back sneakers from their archives, Nike is ready to re-release the Air Zoom Veer from 90’s, but with some updated technologies. Before Flyknit was a thing, engineered mesh was big on sneakers, and here we see it wrap the upper, while playing well with patent leather on the strap and side panel. Sticking to the clean aesthetic, Nike gives us a wolf grey and black colorway of the sneakers for a neutral on-court look. Look for these to drop this Saturday, May 28th.
In partnership with the High Museum, Wish ATL is excited to announce that “The Rise of Sneaker Culture” exhibit is coming to Atlanta! The exhibition explores the evolution of the sneaker from its origins in the mid-nineteenth century to its role in the present day as an urban status symbol and marker of masculine identity. There will be 155 different sneakers on display from the archives of adidas, Nike, and Converse, to design houses such as Prada and Louboutin. Come by the store and snap a pic standing on our Sneaker Exhibit mat and share on social media with the hashtag #SneakerHigh2016 for a chance to be included in an interactive slide show. Don’t miss the exhibit when it lands in Atlanta on June 11th, 2016.
Not quite the Forrest Gumps, Nike brings back the original Nike Cortez, the one that first appeared in stores in 1972. The colorway is the same as the iconic Gump’s and is what has helped the Cortez garner so much success, although Gumps were the 1977 version of the silhouette and features more padding around the heel and no pull tab. Regardless, this one features everything you could want from the Cortez, a classic colorway, premium materials, and a clean aesthetic. Look our for the release coming this Friday, May 27th.
Nike is back with their next Cortez release, this time taking the Cortez Ultra and giving it a clean black and gold look. This is the same Cortez that was worn at the Superbowl halftime show earlier this year from Bruno Mars and his dancers. Gold accents are seen on the tongue, heel, and a Nike Swoosh, and the sneaker utilizes a softer all-foam sole. Look for this one to drop Thursday, May 26th.
Throwing it back to ’97, Jordan Brand comes through with one of the most anticipated retro releases of 2016; the Air Jordan 12 Retro ‘Flu Game’. It’s title stems from MJ’s historic playoff run leading up to his game 5 performance in the 1997 NBA Finals against the Utah Jazz in which he scored 38 points, leading the Bulls to victory all while suffering from the flu. 19 years later we see a remastered version of the iconic retro, utilizing all the premium materials from the original making it as close to the original as possible. Gear up for the release and don’t sleep when it finally drops Saturday, May 28th.
Fresh off the release of her Fur Slides, and busy on tour in North America, Rihanna is back with the her next set of Creeper releases. This time around, Rhi Rhi gives us two very strong colorways, a single tone black sneaker, and a clean looking green bordeaux version. Both colorways boast the same features we’re familiar with from the Creepers, including its thick platform-like midsole. Both pairs of sneakers come with a change of shoe laces, the black including a ribbon for a shoelace. Both come wrapped in premium suede to complete the look. The adidas Consortium World Tour takes a trip to Hong Kong to link up with sneaker boutique Juice for a killer pair of Stan Smiths. Decked out in premium materials, the upper on this one comes in a hairy suede, and receives an all over tonal grey make up. You can find adidas and Juice branding on each sneakers tongue, while the Stan Smith branding has been nixed from the heel. Forest green accents help to add some contrast completing the sneaker.
